Meet Our Team

Sher Mitchell

Principal Archaeologist and Director

Sher began her studies in ancient history in 2008, exploring interests in Egyptology, Roman and British history; including ancient archaeological and architectural studies.

In 2011 she undertook several years of cultural heritage field work, changing her major to archaeology and focussed her attention and passion toward Australian Indigenous heritage and culture; in particular landscape archaeology and lithic technologies, identification and usage.

Whilst living in the UK she undertook volunteer work for York Museums Trust researching, categorising and assisting with the lithic collection preservation.

Sher is a member of the Archaeological Association of Australia and is now undertaking a Master’s degree in Archaeology through the University of New England to further her depth of knowledge as well as continuing with personal research and projects.

  • Bachelor of Arts in Archaeology with USQ Toowoomba and is currently undertaking her Master’s Degree in Archaeology through UNE Armidale

Chris has long held an interest in culture, history and heritage and has many years of personal research and study into sites located across the United Kingdom and Europe.

He has 14 years’ experience in finance and banking, including corporate business management, commercial lending and financial advice.

Chris holds a commercial pilot licence to operate a multi-copter aircraft and specialises in the end to end production experience utilising the latest photogrammetry techniques. He brings passion and creativity to his work and offers a new dimension to the cultural heritage survey’s that Advance Archaeology provides.

Chris’ specific areas of interest are architectural heritage, marine archaeology, ethnography and technical advances that can be utilised in archaeology to improve data presentation including information recorded and reported.
